This is a Dry Cell System from Advance HHO . it is a mid-level water for gas system for 6 cylinder cars, that is cars with a larger engine than 1.5 up to 3.5 liters. The cost is higher as well, Advance HHO sells the complete system for $549.95 . When I say complete system I believe it is a complete system. All you do is add the distilled water and the packet of potassium that is included hook up with the help of a mechanic (or do it yourself from the clearly written instructions that are provided with the system) and you are on your way to saving money.

The technology used in this water for gas system is advanced from the simple water for gas generator using a one quart fruit jar with simple terminals wound with either 304 wire or nickel plated wire which is the same wire used by Dentists to wire up braces,

Probably the best plates to use in the dry cell type of system would be nickel plates but unfortunately they are prohibitive to purchase so stainless steel 316L is the most reasonable plates to use. This Dry Cell is more sophisticated with the stainless steel plates being at least 316L, a higher corrosion proof and stronger stainless steel for longer action during the electrolysis. Most studies concur that plate area plus terminal spacing plus a modulated pulsing electrical current will equal a higher per plate production of gas. I would think that the spacing here is at least 5 mm or

better since current is rated at 12 amps minimum with capacity to achieve greater amps thus additional production of gas. This is a work horse type of dry cell system, speaking of the DC 450, not pretty but a solid dependable electrolysis unit.

Not changed is that distilled water is usually the liquid of choice along with a catalyst to speed up the fractionation. The older system used soda bicarbonate (baking soda) to get the reaction going along with the direct current draw from the car’s battery. This time an alkaline, NAOH or KOH is recommended which allows the electrolysis and the electrical current to be lower in more of a stable state. What I am trying to say is that it doesn’t take as much electricity used with an alkaline catalyst to produce more oxyhydogen gas with less effort. Also the water stays clearer longer and doesn’t turn to sludge in the canister But of course in this system you will not see the water bubbling and the gas forming.My last comment is about the type of electrical flow. When your car’s battery is used as the prime electrical source please do make sure that you wiring goes through the ignition. Why? So that when you turn off the switch, the dry cell is also off and gas isn’t continuing to generate. A safety feature that you should insist upon.

Before I forget it, I would think that each of the plates in the dry cell are sandpapered to add additional attachment points for the gas. The company says that this unit will generate at least 800 ml of gas at 12 amps of power. Spacing between the plates is always a critical element in construction.. Normally most effective dry cells have to have spacing of at least 5mm to a max of 8mm. This one is 5mm I believe.

The last comment that I want to make concerns the use of a flash chip versus the standard EFIE. Please understand that my generation was not particularly computer literate or knowledgeable about computers or software. If you take that into consideration then you will understand my hesitation in suggesting a flash chip to change the AFR in the car’s computer. There are a bunch (I am a non-technical sort of person) so a bunch is several algorithms that are a part of the car’s basic computer. Not only is there a standard Air to Fuel Ratio of 14.7 to 1 as the standard baseline for air and fuel mixes which is the lean portion but there is also a rich standard of 7 to 1 that is the rich portion that sends more gasoline to the combustion chamber. This is true for a fuel injected vehicle but not for an older carburetor type vehicle. Anyway changing one algorithm means that others are changed as well and once changed you might have some problems returning to the original factory standard. Adding to this question is the potential problem of change and your car’s warranty. I am not an attorney so I will not attempt to discuss that situation but you need to keep that issue in your mind before making a change. Having said that and again I am not a computer type individual so it may just be a straw man with no basis behind it. I have not researched flash chips on the web but you should before making any lasting changes to your car’s computer,

The EFIE however I can discuss. I like them because they deal directly with the car’s oxygen sensors which is the prime culprit controlling the AFR and keeping you from enjoying a continuing “lean” situation. .The use of efie’s are well documented in the literature and are a safe way to deal with the oxygen sensor output. The digitals are the best in my estimation, easier to handle and with adjustable dials for adding or decreasing the wave length. The Efie Max is one of the better ones. The use of the efie is easy and because the sensors wave length to the computer is added to by the efie there is no permanent change made to the car’s computer. As a matter of fact the efie is so powerful that it is able to run your car so lean that the car chokes and stops from lack of gasoline in the combustion chamber. You obviously do not ever want to do this and the Effie shouldn’t even be operated without the cooling effects of the hydrogen generator. They both go together in a perfect water for gas system.

I built one of these in 2008 and it was the basis for this website and my own first steps in saving gas.
