A Really Cheap Alternative To Purchasing An EFIE

This really tickled my fancy. A really cheap alternative to purchasing one of the expensive but absolutely necessary EFIE for your car when you are running either a charged water system or electrolyzer or a Smacsbooster is an EFIE.  Well the EFIE's can cost from  $75 that includes shipping from Eagle Research in Canada to $150 USD when you purchase two. The reason for purchasing two is that you need an EFIE  for each O2 Sensor on your car and most of the American ones or the Imports have two sensors, one upstream and one downstream sampling exhaust oxygen. To trick the Engine Control Unit or car computer you need both sensors operating in the same lean mode or the computer goes into a closed loop cycle caused from erroneous information from the O2 sensors. Whew!  What a lot of mumbo-jumbo just to say you need an EFIE for each O2 Sensor.

Anyway, the cheap alternative is to wrap each sensor body in several (2) lengths of Aluminum Foil and secure them with short lengths of thick gauge copper wire. This should be enough to keep the sensor body warm which will keep a signal flowing to the cars computer that everything is fine and due to the warmth the leaner ratios are needed. This is the explanation anyway. Any problem that kicks off a error light can be usually handled by unhooking your battery cable for several minutes allowing the computer to re-set itself. If any problem persists with a light just remove the aluminum foil from the sensors and the light should go away. If light persists, unhook battery cables once again. That should take care of the problem. Of course this is all predicated upon your car being in good shape and your O2 Sensors not being burned out as they can do over time.

Let me know and the best of luck in your quest to get better mileage from the gas pumps. Jim
